To promote its high profile autumn/winter campaign, French Connection recently installed four DynaScan 65-inch high brightness LCDs in the storefront window of its London flagship store. Located in the City of Westminster in the West End of London, the shop sits on the world famous Oxford Street, Europe’s busiest shopping street, which sees over 200 million visitors each year.
Theatre Development Fund Places High Brightness LCDs in TKTS Discount Booth Windows
Theatre Development Fund , a not-for-profit organization for live theatre and dance, recently installed a pair of DynaScan high brightness LCDs in the front windows of its South Street Seaport TKTS Discount Booth. The TKTS Discount Booths offer tickets to Broadway and Off Broadway musicals and plays at up to 50% off, giving producers a direct marketing tool for surplus seats.
Two DS55LT6 55″ 5000 nit ultra-high brightness LCDs with narrow bezels are mounted in a portrait orientation facing outward to the public. The pair of screens is used to display upcoming show times as well as the discount the booth offers for each showing. Because solar heat gain is a concern when placed behind glass, the displays include an ultra-quiet, high efficiency cooling system, and a high temperature resistant panel capable of reaching temperatures up to 110°C (240°F) before experiencing blackening defect.
Malibu Presbyterian Church Overcomes Sunlight with DynaScan Video Wall for House of Worship Display Application
When Malibu Presbyterian Church burned down in 2007 as a result of wildfires in the area, it took the opportunity to modernize the facility with new audio visual equipment when it came time to rebuild. Award-winning architectural design studio Domusstudio architecture designed a new modern facility comprised of large plate glass windows giving access to the breathtaking ocean views, and allowing a vast amount of external ambient light to enter the sanctuary.
During construction, the sanctuary was originally equipped with a video projector built into a niche in the ceiling – a common solution for house of worship display applications. It quickly became apparent, however, that the projector was simply not capable of producing a clear image with the high contrast needed in the brightly lit environment. Late morning sun would enter the facility during church services and wash out the image projected on the screen.
360 Degree Displays Offer an Attractive Display Solution for Sports Venues
With the NHL hockey season in full swing, and the NBA basketball season just around the corner, we would like to highlight how DynaScan 360 degree LED video displays can provide an attractive display solution for special event and sports venues. Air Canada Centre, home of the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey club, Toronto Raptors basketball club, and the Toronto Rock lacrosse team, employed the use of three DS0616 video displays at its entrance. The displays are arranged approximately ten feet away from each other in a triangular configuration in the venue’s Atrium Concourse. The DynaScan displays are used to create a visual distinction between an open air Leafs TV and Raptors NBA TV studio and the general public space.
